Tom Halpin is an Irish born Brazilian JiuJitsu blackbelt under Roberto ‘Cyborg’ Abreu. Starting his BJJ training in 2011, he quickly reached the rank of blue belt. Unfortunately at that time there were not a huge amount of high level competitors in Tom’s local area and, wanting to increase his BJJ skills, he was convinced by a friend to travel to Florida to train with the legendary Cyborg Abreu at his Fight Sports gym in Miami. Tom quickly fell in love with the concepts and style of training at Fight Sports and would travel back to Miami in the summers to train with the team. After receiving his purple belt from his original coach, Fergal Quinlan, Tom would go on to earn his brown and black belts from Cyborg.
As well as being a multiple time UAEJJF winner, Tom has numerous quick submission wins in Polaris, and submitted his way to the ADCC Finals at the ADCC European Trials in 2019.
Known for his intellectual approach to leglocks and well rounded game, Tom is one of the best up and coming European submission artists of recent years.

Tom Halpin is a super high level competitor who has changed my game on several occasions. I got this mainly to check out what he was doing in the field these days but had my mind blown when I saw his ‘Saddle Entry vs Backstep Pass’. That alone was worth the price of admission for a hardcore leg hunter like myself. Good stuff.

I’m finally getting more entries into and finishes from the saddle. Tom explains extremely well without overloading you with information like some of the other leglock dvds do. The techniques can be directly applied into your game. One of the best leglock instructionals out there

I have to say the production quality is fantastic, as is the level of instruction from Tom. If you want to improve or refine your leglock game then look no further.

I also met Tom in real life, in real life or in video it doesn’t matter this guy can teach! Till today I still apply his techniques and even my students recall his techniques often! The details make the techniques creme de la creme 🙂

Easily digestible enriched with great detail. I personally loved the counter to when an opponent backsteps from reverse X and entering the kneebar from saddle.
